Caroline June Robinson is an artist and writer. Before pursuing her (MSLS) Masters in Library and Information Science Robinson graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Art (BFA) from Columbia College Chicago in 2022. Caroline has had a lifelong passion for history and genealogy and rekindled her own family search after her college graduation. Discovering both her own genealogical and artistic roots began in her own native Boston, Massachusetts. Caroline's 4th great-grandfather Charles Mead Foss through her third great-grandparents Lewis Grieve Farmer (pictured right) and Marian Sinclair Foss was as a prominent Boston silversmith, jeweler, and watchmaker. Through the mid to late 19th century he partnered with Henry Dutton Morse inventor of the Boston Cut diamond and the first to train women in the business of diamond cutting in North America. Foss earned trademarks under Crosby, Morse, and Foss and Lincoln and Foss and their works are in collections throughout historical homes and museums including the Art Institute of Chicago and Historic New England in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Along with Mayflower Passengers John Alden (maternal side), Jon Howland (paternal side), and Mary Chilton (maternal side), including the family of protestant reformer Martin Luther (maternal side). Caroline traced her ancestry to the founding families of Nantucket, Massachusetts, Martha's Vineyard, and the Vineyard's Native American princess Mary "Little Dove" Hyanno of the Wamponaog tribe (maternal side.) Nantucket's whaling captain, Timothy Folger, cousin of inventor and Founding Father Benjamin Franklin with whom both mapped the first chart of the Gulf Stream is Caroline's 7th great-grandfather (paternal side.)
Caroline also found out her mother's father's family did not immigrate from Canada, as long believed, but were rather a centuries old family lineage in the Alsace region of France from the small village of Schopperten. Lastly, Caroline's third great-grandfather John Glass (paternal side) of John Glass & Son. a prominent building firm in New York City in the 19th century was responsible in the architecture and building a large number of private buildings, stores, mercantile buildings, and apartment buildings throughout the entirety of New York City starting in 1847. Notable buildings include then Glass Hall, and the Adams Hotel.
Caroline grew up in Boxborough, Massachusetts. In her free-time she likes to write, paint, sew, and read with her four cats Teddy, Pumpkin, Truffle, and Minnie.
